The development of agricultural machinery is affected by the lag of the construction of the tractor road.

In recent years, with the deepening of the subsidy policy for the purchase of agricultural machinery, the purchase of agricultural machinery by farmers has increased rapidly. Take Longhui County, Hunan Province as an example. As of the end of 2011, the county had 75633 sets of agricultural machinery, an increase of 62% compared with the end of the 1990 s; the total power of agricultural machinery reached 297840 kilowatts, an annual increase of 11.8%. Agricultural machinery has entered thousands of rural households and played an important role in accelerating the process of agricultural modernization. However, the current situation of rural tractor roads has restricted the promotion and application of agricultural machinery. At present, most villages and towns do not have tractor roads, and the only ones were built in the 1960 s. Due to the influence of material resources and design concepts at that time, most of them can only meet the needs of small tillers and scooters. Especially with the implementation of the rural household contract responsibility system, the construction, maintenance and planning of rural mechanical farming roads are in a laissez-faire state. After decades of wind and rain erosion and man-made damage, the road surface of the tractor road is getting narrower and narrower, and the only remaining tractor road is mostly sediment road, with many potholes, weak foundation, low safety level and long operation cycle. When a harvester works between fields harvesting crops of different maturity stages, the transfer time of the operating machine between the fields is several times longer than the harvesting time due to the impassability of the machine. Tractors and other working machinery can only run at low speed when walking on the tractor road, and sometimes they have to build a bridge board to pass, which greatly reduces the working efficiency of agricultural machinery. Farmers and agricultural machinery operators sometimes can only look at the "opportunity" and sigh, and the mechanical farming road has become a "bottleneck" restricting the popularization of rural mechanization ". Farmers hope that the tractor roads that meet the requirements can be built as soon as possible. Strengthening the construction of tractor roads requires the attention of the government and raising funds in many ways. The "Agricultural Mechanization Promotion Law" stipulates that local people's governments at all levels should take measures to strengthen the construction, management and protection of rural mechanized roads and other infrastructure. The county and township governments should incorporate the construction of mechanical farming roads into the overall planning of agricultural engineering construction, comprehensive agricultural development, ecological environment management, agricultural machinery demonstration village construction and other projects, and combine them with farmers' investment, labor investment and labor investment; they can also learn from the village-to-village policy to promote the construction of mechanical farming roads by means of awards instead of subsidies.
